Corporate Information
History
In 1893 two immigrant engineers from the United Kingdom, Charles Henry Cawse and John Malcolm, founded the company Cawse and Malcolm (Pty) Ltd. At the time operating as Mining Brokers and Agents, they established the SA Mining and Material Exchange, a periodical publication that organized the market place for the buying and selling of used and refurbished machinery for the mining and general industry. Progressively over the years the focus of the company has changed, and it is now focused on the supply, repair and refurbishment of low voltage, medium voltage and high voltage electrical equipment, transformers and switchgear.
In order to bring the company in line with the current market environment, particularly with regard to South African BBBEE legislation and requirements, it was necessary to start a new company and in 2011 Cawse and Malcolm Electrical (Pty) Ltd was born.
Cawse and Malcolm companies have been in the Malcolm family for 4 generations and the company remains a family business – something we are very proud of.
